About Me
Julie Lowry
B.Mus, B.MT, MTA, B. Ed [proposed graduation 2025]
From a young age, I have had a passion about connecting with others and building a sense of community. My life long learning journey, led me to become a music therapist, a role where this passion truly flourished. Music therapy allowed me to connect with individuals through music, especially when expressive language was not an option. During my time as a music therapist, I had the opportunity to work in various schools settings, where I fell in love with the idea of school and classroom communities. I was inspired by the role of educators in helping students find their voices. As I embark on this new learning journey, I hope to continue building inclusive communities where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Interests
As a mom of three, you can often find our family camping, cross-country skiing, traveling, taking capoeira classes, or reading together! I’m also an avid runner who enjoys challenging myself with new distances. Passionate about fostering connections in my community, I thrive as an engaged leader, taking on roles such as chairing committees and organizing fundraisers. As a true extrovert, I recharge through social activities like singing in choirs, participating in group sports, or making pizza with family and friends.
