Teaching Philosophy

B.Mus, B.MT, MTA, B. Ed [proposed graduation 2025]

I ground my teaching philosophy in fostering respectful, trusting relationships between students, families, and educators through genuine care and collaboration. Through a student-centred foundation, I recognize each student as capable and valued, cultivating a learning environment that supports their unique strengths and respects their individual needs. Together, we will co-construct knowledge that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and challenges traditional narratives. As an educator, I will cultivate an inclusive environment that embraces diversity and provides opportunities for students to explore their identities and the world around them. Supporting an attitude of listening, we will learn to appreciate different points of view while exploring our roles in a diverse world. As an educator, I acknowledge the significant responsibility of nurturing a lifelong passion for learning in my students. I believe it is essential to my teaching philosophy to invest in my own continuous learning. This investment will enable me to adapt to the dynamic nature of both my classroom and the broader field of education, ensuring that I remain both reflective and responsive.
